Sign-up conversion rate

Understand how effectively your experience converts visitors into new accounts.

This chart displays the percentage of sessions impacted by your experience that resulted in a sign-up.

It provides a global view of how well your site encourages users to create an account, helping you evaluate the performance of your experience at scale.

Unlike site-wide conversion metrics, this widget isolates the performance of your experience, allowing you to understand its direct impact on encouraging users to sign up.

Metrics

Sign-up conversion rate widget

The chart includes:

  1. Sign-up conversion rate
The percentage of sessions impacted by your experience that generated a sign-up.
  2. Sign-up conversion rate over time
A trend chart showing how this conversion rate changed over time.

Interpretation

Imagine that your experience reached 900 sessions during the selected period. Out of those, users in 45 sessions completed the sign-up process. This means your sign-up conversion rate is 45 divided by 900, resulting in a 5% conversion rate.

We calculate this metric using the formula:

Sign-up conversion rate=total sign-upstotal sessionsSign\text{-}up \space conversion \space rate = \frac{total \space sign\text{-}ups}{total \space sessions}

What the number tells you

Here are some common insights you can get from this widget:

  • An increasing conversion rate suggests that the experience is effectively communicating the value of signing up or reducing friction in the process.
  • A decreasing rate may indicate that the content is unclear, misaligned with user intent, or that the registration flow needs optimization.
  • Observing changes over time helps you understand how updates to your experience, UX adjustments, or broader initiatives influence account creation.
