Conversions

Measure the performance of your application against key goals.

This widget shows the total number of conversions for a specific goal, such as sign-ups, CTA clicks, or newsletter subscriptions. It also gives the conversion rate, which is the percentage of sessions in which users completed a given goal.

Besides these metrics, you will find a breakdown to help you identify how user behavior varies across devices, such as mobile, desktop, and tablet.

Conversion metrics are among the most important indicators for evaluating how effectively your application drives users to complete key actions. By analyzing this data, you gain valuable insights into what drives results and where to focus optimization efforts.

Metrics

Total of conversions widget

The chart includes:

  1. Total of conversions
The number of sessions in which the selected goal was completed.
  2. Conversion rate
The percentage of sessions in which the selected goal was completed.
  3. Conversion rate by device
Breaks down the percentage of sessions in which the selected goal was completed by the user's device type.

Interpretation

Imagine your application had 500 sessions in total. Out of those, the goal cta-click was completed in 100 sessions. This means your conversion rate is 100 divided by 500, which equals 20%.

We calculate this metric using the formula:

Convertion rate=total of conversionsnumber of sessionsConvertion \space rate = \frac{total \space of \space conversions}{number \space of \space sessions}

What the number tells you

Here are some common insights you can get from this widget:

  • A higher conversion rate suggests your application is effectively guiding users toward completing key actions, likely through intuitive design, relevant content, or smooth flows.
  • A lower conversion rate may signal friction in the user journey, unclear calls to action, or performance issues preventing users from completing goals.
  • If one device type performs significantly better than others, it may indicate optimization opportunities. For example, improving the mobile conversion journey if desktop conversions are higher.
