# Billing

Understand what you pay for and how your subscription works.

Billing happens at the organization level. A single subscription covers the organization and everything inside it, so all workspaces, applications, and members share the same plan, quotas, and extras.

Three things determine what you pay: the plan you choose, the volume of [monthly active users](/explanation/organization/billing/monthly-active-users) it covers, and whether you pay monthly or annually. Any extras you add appear on the same invoice.

Everything related to billing lives on your billing page, split into two tabs:

- The [**Details**](https://app.croct.com/redirect/organizations/-organization-/billing/details) tab shows your current plan, usage, payment method, billing information, and invoice history.
- The [**Plans**](https://app.croct.com/redirect/organizations/-organization-/billing/plans) tab lists the available plans and lets you change your plan, volume, and billing cycle.

## Subscription

Your subscription includes a plan and any extras you add to it.

### Plan

Your plan controls two things:

- **Features** determine which capabilities you can use.
- **Quotas** define limits on usage, resources, and data retention.

### Extras and add-ons

You can extend your subscription without changing plans. We call these additions **extras**, and they come in two forms:

- **Extra quotas** increase supported limits beyond what your plan includes.
- **Feature add-ons** enable supported features that your plan does not include.

Extras stay with your subscription when you change plans, so they follow you through [upgrades and downgrades](/explanation/organization/billing/plan-changes).

### Billing cycle

We bill both **monthly** and **annual** plans in advance. Annual billing offers a discounted rate compared to monthly billing.
